About
After a lifelong love of anything warm and Caribbean, I moved to St Croix in 2001. Initially, I made the move to pursue a career in travel, with a start up company, IslandQuest Vacations, that tied together the thrill of reality game shows (like Survivor & the Mole) with a vacation. I was the VP of St Croix games and set with the task of opening up the office in the islands, staffing it and the games, and working with Royal Caribbean and local vendors. Unfortunately, the travel industry took a big hit after 911 and it was a terrible time for start-ups. So, in July of 2002 we closed the doors and that dream. But, by then I’d fallen in love with St Croix and the island life-style and decided to stay and make a go of it on my own. After a stint as the functions coordinator for the Buccaneer Hotel planning weddings, corporate outings and groups, I decided to branch out on my own and formed SunCelebrations.
I’m an avid reader (anything about adventure) and love travelling, scuba-diving, snorkeling, boating/sailing …well anything that keeps me in or on the water pretty much. I’m also a free-lance graphic designer and artist (though there never seems to be enough time to paint!).
Currently, I’m on hiatus at my family’s home in Massachusetts. I’ve spent the year honing my graphic design skills and working as a freelancer. I’m planning my return to St. Croix for Nov/Dec 2007 (before the real cold kicks in) and can’t wait to get back! I’m booking the wedding season now - so if you’re interested in a date, contact me ASAP.
Teleulah, my baby. She’s a Crucian beauty from the St Croix Animal Welfare center. I got her in 2002 shortly after I moved to St Croix to be a companion to my now dearly departed Rhodesian Ridgeback, Kenji, who was used to having a friend around. Teleulah is a great watchdog but even more so, a great companion and super smart! She LOVES toys, playing fetch and most of all swimming… she’s a true beach bum. Recently, she came in 2nd place for Waggiest Tail at the Pet Rock Fest in Worcester, MA … fitting as her nickname is Danger Tail.
My Kenji… my angel, my love. Dearly missed on a daily basis, but never forgotten. There will never be another like her. The best dog a girl ever had.
